Kenmore & Whirlpool Dryer Repair Tutorials

First note that Whirlpool makes Kenmore dryers and places the Kenmore brand on them. I first learned this when fixing a neighbor's Whirlpool dryer. When ordering parts, I noticed that the parts to be replaced looked identical to parts on a Kenmore I had. Sure enough they were identical.

Kenmore dryers are known for their heater element issues (See No Heat or Too Much Heat). The heater element replacement tutorial below should apply to many if not most models. The difference being that you will probably need to get a part specifically for your model.

Dryer rollers seem to be another Achilles' heel on some Whirlpool and Kenmore dryers - the tutorials below address this problem.

Belt replacement is a common repair. On the model shown below, the replacement was incredibly simple! I would expect other models to be similar.

You can get parts online at if you provide the model number of your dryer.
